Been waiting for Mark Caneso to release this typeface for awhile. I’ve been laboriously altering Neuzeit Grotesk for something recently, so I’m thrilled to see this come out!
Beautiful. I actually gasped out loud when he finished the “y” toward the end. Love it. (via booooooom)
I’m always looking for strong, contemporary serifs. This is a great one from Stereotypes. And get the Thin weight for free!
Admittedly, this is a bit of an oddball collection, even for me. Nonetheless, I still find the variety of design—and impression—pretty interesting. I shot all these a few years ago, when I still lived in Oakland, CA. They’re all taken from within a half mile radius of my house, which was on 41st and Shafter.
I’m very excited that NPR.org just did a little feature on Chicagotype! It’s for their photoblog “The Picture Show.” The little article and slideshow that accompany it are great, but I thought I’d use the occasion to do my own little “Greatest Hits” collection, with a few highlights they didn’t include.
