Silhouette SD Electronic Cutting “Printer”

Whoa. I had no idea these existed. For once I feel left out not being a scrapbooker…

It cuts out your vector designs from paper, adhesive vinyl, t-shirt transfers—man, I’m gonna have fun with it. The only drawback is that it uses a proprietary app/file format for the vectors, but the bezier drawing tool will be familiar to you. And it appears that there’s a plug-in that allows you to “print” from Illustrator. I’ll report back when I’ve tested it out!

My birthday present

Does my wife know me, or what?! I just opened my first NEW instant camera in many years! Quite exciting. The Fuji Instamax Mini is a chunky little number that takes little Polaroid-esque shots that are exactly the size of a credit card. And so far, the quality actually exceeds the more recent Polaroids I’d used. Love it! Thanks, hon!

Collect for Output for Illustrator

I really like this little app. I can’t understand why Adobe hasn’t made collect for output a feature in Illustrator (or have they? I’m still on CS3!) But this app makes up for it, and does a great job. The free trial is great because it gives you a certain number of “launches” rather than days. Then it’s $49.95 for the real thing.
